Women and leisure
a state of the art review for the sports council - social science research council joint panel on sport and leisure research
Research so far available has indicated that there are quantitative differences in leisure behaviour between men and women, and even stronger differences between women of different social backgrounds and circumstances. There is a growing awareness that some women never experience the creative, self-actualising type of leisure activities so valued by policy-makers and providers. It is the dual concern for the research and policy with regard to women and leisure which is the foundation of this review.
