Worldwide surveillance of self-reported sitting time

a scoping review

This study provides an updated collation of self-report sitting time globally. The daily sitting time findings should be interpreted cautiously. Sitting time data were collected in 62 of 215 countries, representing 47% of the global adult population. Daily sitting time was on average 4.7 h. There was particularly a lack of data in low- and middle-income countries, but data that were available suggested they reported less daily sitting time than higher-income countries.
