perceptions of the FIFA World Cup soccer 2010 in South Africa
The goal of this thesis is to give an insight in South African feelings and opinions on the World Cup, particularly in the Eastern Cape. It tries to answer the following research question: What are the perceptions on the effects of the FIFA World Cup 2010 on infrastructure, tourism and sports and development activities according to students of the University of Fort Hare and politicians of the Buffalo City Municipality, Eastern Cape, South Africa? The research is done by using interviews, informal and formal observations with South Africans in South Africa.
