Injury prevention in young children

The objectives of this thesis are:

  1. To describe the magnitude of the injury risk of a physically active lifestyle in young children. More specifically, the risk of upper extremity injuries.
  2. To review the literature regarding the effectiveness of community- and school-based physical activity related injury prevention programs in children.
  3. To evaluate the effectiveness and implementation of the Dutch educational program to improve fall skills called ‘Vallen is ook een sport’.
